Can't open files in NTFS partition with wps-office [closed]

0

I have a dual boot laptop, with a NTFS shared partition, in which i have all my files. I want to access them in both OS'.

With WPS office suite, in Linux Mint 19, I cannot access files in this location, i get this error message:

error wps

I'm mounting the partition via /etc/fstab

/dev/disk/by-uuid/9A32665932663A81 /mnt/9A32665932663A81 ntfs-3g defaults,permissions 0 0

I've tried several mount configurations and none seem to work:

/dev/disk/by-uuid/9A32665932663A81 /mnt/9A32665932663A81 ntfs nls=iso8859-1,permissions,users,auto,exec

/dev/disk/by-uuid/9A32665932663A81 /mnt/9A32665932663A81 ntfs defaults 0 0

I can access the same files with Libreoffice perfectly, and don't have any other problems with other files and other programs.

SOLVED:
As some users commented, the problem was with the snap installation. All i did was uninstalling and downloading the deb package.

Thank you!

  • If this problem happens only with WPS Office, you might have better luck reporting a bug to them, or at least asking somewhere on their forum. I wouldn't hold much breath a random person would be able to answer that otherwise.

Probably installed as a snap and you may need to configure the snap permissions.

  • Snap application needs additional care to access file outside home.
