libxext6,libxext6:i386

-1

for some reason i auto removed these packages (libxext6,libxext6:i386) but when i did that there were about 414 packages needed to be uninstalled and unfortunately i typed yes and most of favorites have been deleted , close and minimize buttons have been removed , most of apps didn't work . is there any way to undo what i have been made or i must install another version ?, i tried to reinstall all the packages that have been removed but there are many issues
like rhythmbox doesn't launch

  • Your alternatives are to explore /var/log/apt/history.log so you can undo/reverse what you've done (as I commented on your prior question), or re-install ubuntu-desktop as already suggested by user535733 too on your prior question. My response was more precise, but more complicated, even experienced users would probably opt for re-install as suggested by user535733. As in that question, you should provide details as to your version & DEsktop in use.

  • You could try sudo dpkg-reconfigure rhythmbox which will reset the program package back to defaults (somewhat anyway; excluding your user settings found in $HOME). I would run it from a terminal (to see if it outputs messages that provide a clue, ie. errors when you tell it to play that will tell you what to fix; these are messages that you post on here for us to help you with). If there are no clues, you could then purge it then install again, if you have problems even after this it's likely issues with your user.config so I'd suggest removing it & allowing them to be re-created.
