“This can dump your brain into that weekend twilight zone” What does it mean?

0

In an article about health, I came across the sentence "This can dump your brain into that weekend twilight zone." The context is as follows:(After a paragraph that insists catching up on your sleep on weekends is quite bad.) It partly has to do with the body's release of cortisol (a hormone associated with alertness), which begins for seven-o'clock risers btwn three and four in the morning and peaks at about 11.) When you lie in the bed past this time, you suppress the level of cortisol. This can dump your brain into that weekend twilight zone

I have no idea of what 'that weekend twilight zone' refers to. I reflected on it, and I concluded that it meant 'it puts your brain in a borderline state', but I'm not quite sure...
When I looked up 'twilight zone' in dictionaries, they said it refers to 1)a midway position(neither one thing nor the other 2)a illusionary, fantastic, and magical dimension (There are others, but the rest were a far cry from this context,I guessed)
I assumed the former was closer. But I need your help!!
