A word for something that’s exactly what it needs to be and nothing more? [on hold]

0

Is there a word that describes something that extremely streamlined in the sense that it’s great at one single thing and it doesn’t have any fancy features that aren’t really needed?

For example a top of the line hammer that’s made of the best steel, is super durable, it’s ergonomic and precisely engineered vs a hammer that has Bluetooth and can post updates to Facebook of how many nails you’ve driven.

How do I describe the design of the first hammer?

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:

  • "Questions on choosing an ideal word or phrase must include information on how it will be used in order to be answered. For help writing a good word or phrase request, see: About single word requests" – tchrist

If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

  • Streamlined already seems like it is what you are looking for. The answer to the question in the title would be "adequate", but the post seems to be asking for something a little different. Please be more clear
