16.04 Nautilus MTP access to Android SD card via USB cable
The goals is to access an Android's 5.1.1 SD card. The phone's connectivity menu allows selection between MTP and PTP.
I believe PTP enable access to the phone's native flash memory and shows up in Ubuntu's Nautlius.
jumpfs was installed per guidance: via sudo apt-get install jmtpfs The hope was that:
After connecting your phone via USB, enable the MTP file transfer on
your phone and it will show up as USB device on your computer. You can
then access the whole file system (and not only the pictures, as with
PTP) of your Android device.
I rebooted the box: selecting MTP on the phone did not present the phone in MTP mode. Only PTP presents in Nautilus
