Lately when I upgrade the kernel on my Ubuntu 18.10 laptop I get an error message: " Failed to check for container: Input/output error". Everything works as it should but I am always wary of errors during boot. Here's the error in context:

(Reading database ... 257139 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing linux-headers-5.0.0-2.1-amd64 (5.0-1ubuntu1~cosmic) ...
Removing linux-image-5.0.0-2.1-amd64 (5.0-1ubuntu1~cosmic) ...
/etc/kernel/postrm.d/initramfs-tools:
update-initramfs: Deleting /boot/initrd.img-5.0.0-2.1-amd64
/etc/kernel/postrm.d/zz-update-grub:
Failed to check for container: Input/output error
Sourcing file `/etc/default/grub'
Generating grub configuration file ...

My install is pretty standard except for that / partition is btrfs. Not sure if that matters. What is causing this error, should I worry about it and can I get rid of it somehow?
