When I connect my HP Pavilion laptop (Ubuntu 18.04) to an non-monitor external HDMI display, like a TV or a projector, the leftmost part of the display is missing. I lose just enough of the left part of the display, that I can't see the Gnome dock down the left hand side. On a proper widescreen monitor, all is perfectly fine. Is there anything I can do to calibrate this misalignment?
