This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:

  • "This question is specific to an end of life Ubuntu release. These are no longer supported and are therefore off-topic here. To upgrade, see: How to install software or upgrade from old unsupported release?" – Wild Man, DK Bose, guiverc, wjandrea, karel

If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

  • Ubuntu 16.10 is the 2016.October release of Ubuntu (Ubuntu release format is yy.mm) and came with 9 months of supported life. This has well since gone, with its intended upgrade path being to 17.04 (EOL), then 17.10 (EOL), then 18.04 LTS. Questions about EOL releases are off-topic here (askubuntu.com/help/on-topic) unless it's specifically about moving to a supported release of Ubuntu, so I'd suggest you move to supported release of Ubuntu like Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (a long-term-support release with 5 years of support).
