why i can't see some folders and files?

0

In a folder, I have some files that I can't see in an open window. But I can see them when I run ls -l in the terminal.
These files are CMakeCache.txt, cmake_install.cmake, Makefile, temp.

Could you please guide me what the problem is.

  • Do the file names have a point . in front of them? Do they have a tilde ~ ?

  • No, They don't have . or ~

  • I had the same experience on ubuntu 16.04. The files were not hidden (did not start with . og ~). After a few other attempts I hit F5 and they became visible.

I have no idea why the files are hidden but if you type ls -a it should show all files including the hidden ones in that directory.

  • Twould be nice to know what the output of ls -a would've been in the directory that wasn't displaying all your folders. Probably a bug or system glitch...
