02/28/2019 update messed with screen resolution

0

I just updated my system (ubuntu 18.10) and my external screen resolution is all messed up. Instead of the usual 4k (3840x2160), the maximum I can set it with the Display GUI is 1680x1050.

Everything was working fine before that update.

I already try that solution and I can see the 3840x2160 option in the Display menu but it is not changing the screen resolution.

The packages that were updates are the followings:

After of few hours of scratching my head, I rebooted the computer WHITHOUT the external screen attached, then plug it back in and the 4k resolution was back.

It is a mystery to me how this works.

It is a mystery to me how this works.
