How to share folders over the network in Xubuntu 18.04?

I could easily do it in previous version, but now I'm getting error: Unable to start "gksu system-config-samba". I googled, found solution, system-config-samba opens, I add folder to share (read & write), but even though I cannot access it. Also I used nautilus-share and added the folder. Doesn't work too.
I can't find any article that would explain how to share folders in this version of Xubuntu.

To share a folder in Samba




  • Add User sudo adduser <user-name>

  • create password sudo smbpasswd -a <user-name>

  • Create share:
    sudo -H gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf


Add the following to the end of smb.conf file



[<folder-name]
path = /path/to/folder
writeable = yes
browseable = yes
guest ok = no


close the file and run:



sudo systemctl restart smbd nmbd


Done.
