  • Eclipse Oxygen is an old version, did you choose it on purpose? If not, I recommend to stick to the last version. Also, how did you install it? From Ubuntu repositories? From Eclipse website? Snap?

  • Oxygen is not that old and is fine. The problem is the couple Oxygen/Java 11. If you want to be bleeding edge, you have to be so all the way. Oxygen.3a supports Java10 but for later Java you would have to use a later version of Eclipse.

  • Thanks for your answer. I need the Oxygen since I use C, C++ and Fortran. Can you recommend another Eclipse platform?

  • All recent versions of Eclipse support C, C++ and Fortran. You need Eclipse 2018-12 to run with Java 11 (or 2019-03 which will released on a few days). To run Eclipse Oxygen you need to use on older Java.

  • Thanks. There are some problems if not using the Oxygen: 1. even if we have a FORTRAN project, it does not recognize the fortran tools. 2. The GCC version is 4.8.2 and not 4.8.5
