I read whatever I found. If anyone could help me.
In my scenario rich men do bad things and get away thanks to their money
I need an intricate ironical well-known old, English expression. if possible. something that means gallows
the text I will put the expression is:

If you have money are rumors… if you don’t...
example: ... it's gallows (I thought "it's hanging" but doesn't means gallows)
or
example2: ...the Grim Reaper waits for you on the corner!
or
...your head is at stake.
or
it's a dance with death (found it here, close but...)
thanks

  • I think I understand most of it, but what does "If you have money are rumors" mean? Does it mean something like this? If it's rumored that you have enough money (to pay whomever), but you actually don't have enough, you will be sent to the gallows.
