Failed to start session error
I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and suddenly without warning, the system reports failed to start session
when I try and login to Ubuntu. Any assistance is much appreciated. Note: I'm running a dual-boot system with Windows and Ubuntu. Thank you!

In a terminal login (Ctrl-Alt-F2
),service --status-all |& awk '{print $4'} | xargs -r -n 1 -I '{}' service {} status |& less
will show you all your services, and their statuses. Find your display manager. On my 16.04.5 system it'slightdm
.service lightdm status
shows me its status. YMMV,
