Virtualbox Version 5.1.16 doesnot detect Realtek RTL8188EUS 802.11 N Wireless Network Adapter [on hold]

0

I bought a Enter USB Wireless 11N adapter (ID 0bda:8179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188EUS 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter) to use in my Kali Linux through my VirtualBox v5.1.16. Even though my host Ubuntu 17.06 (4.10.0-42-generic) detects this adapter, VirtualBox doesnt show this in the usb filters to add to the kali machine. It just shows .

I tried adding the userid to the vbusers group but doesnt seem to work. I tried adding the usb filter manuallywith vendor and product id still doesnt work.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Possible off-topic question. There was no Ubuntu release in June of 2017 (17.06), and any release in the year 2017 is now EOL as there were no LTS releases that year. Ubuntu 17.04 & 17.10 are both EOL & thus off-topic, as is Kali (not being Ubuntu or an official flavor), thus your question is off-topic. Refer askubuntu.com/help/on-topic
