Office 365 account not syncing

I have added an Office 365 account to gnome-online-accounts
in Ubuntu 18.04 and enabled sync for Mail, Calendar and Contacts but for some reason it does not give me notifications when a new mail arrives, neither does it update my calendar when I am added to an event.
I installed evolution and it started working, but I don't like a solution where I have start using another application when the OS already has a solution for it.
Can someone please help me find a solution for this problem
Update
Going through journalctl
gave me these two lines
This shows that the system is trying to connect to the domain imap on the domain name of my email which is not (I think) how office365 works. It should be connecting to outlook.office365.com
but how do I tell the system to do that?
