A4 tech wireless keyboard not working

I recently bought an A4 Tech set of wireless mouse and keyboard. The problem is, that Ubuntu (16.04 LTS) doesn't seem to recognize the keyboard. The mouse is working fine, and the keyboard is working on windows. I have already tried reinstalling xserver drivers, installed newest version of bluez. I even tried to plug in all 3 USB slots the wireless adapter, but didn't help. After a thorough search on the net, I didn't find any actually working solutions.

If it is any help, when typing grep "Name|Handlers" /proc/bus/input/devices
in the terminal, in the output I can see two elements that likely correspond to the wireless devices (i.e. when I plug out the USB adapter for the devices, those disappear):

N: Name="COMPANY 2.4G Device"
H: Handlers=sysrq kbd event5 leds
N: Name="COMPANY 2.4G Device"
H: Handlers=sysrq kbd mouse1 event6

Any idea how could I resolve this? Is there a way to switch the keyboard on, or to get a working driver? Could Ubuntu 18.04 LTS handle the keyboard? Any help would be appreciated!

  • In a terminal window, watch journalctl --follow as you pulg in the wireless adapter.
