Ubuntu app “terminator” closes when clicked anywhere outside terminal
I have been using the terminator terminal for some time but got hit by some weird behavior today.
What is happening:
- Open the terminator.
- Either click anywhere outside the
terminatoror right click onterminatoritself. This action leads to close down ofterminatoritself.
If I go to terminal(default one shipped with Ubuntu) and look for any running process using ps -aux | grep term command, I am observing the following output (after terminator seems to be closed from UI standpoint):
gaurav.+ 9407 0.1 0.2 815784 48612 ? Ssl 18:56 0:05 /usr/lib/gnome-terminal/gnome-terminal-server
gaurav.+ 20581 7.0 0.3 668928 54360 tty2 Sl+ 20:19 0:00 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/terminator
gaurav.+ 20786 0.0 0.0 21536 1088 pts/1 S+ 20:19 0:00 grep --color=auto term
I have tried uninstalling the terminator using sudo apt-get --purge remove terminator command and install it back again, but above behavior stays same.
Let me know how can I fix it?
If you need more information about the issue, then feel free to ask for it.
