I have ubuntu 18.04 installed on Toshiba Satellite C660-A205, by default it has 2 GB ram. So, I purchased additional 4 GB ram , to accommodate the high need of memory in 64 architectures.
When I installed the additional ram, Ubuntu stop to boot at all, it crashed somewhere after the grup screen.
When I tried to install the new ram alone, it continued till the line of "load desktop", only arrow appeared & then crashed.
I have Windows xp on the same laptop & it works by either the new ram only or both.
the following troubleshoots I had already tried :
- remove the ram , install the new one only, clean the sockets , swap
the rams etc. - memtest 86 , it detect the ram.
- Bios update from Toshiba site, the update stop by message : "the current Bios is higher than 20".
- install fresh OS , I had tried "cinnamon 64 bit", "Kubuntu 64 bit" & "Ubuntu 32 bit". all usb disks stop.
Anyone can help. please!
