dns not working when i have multiple network connections

Multi tool use
I have internet while connected to my phone hotspot shared through bluetooth and works great. However, when i add another wireless connection (a raspberry pi adhoc wireless network), DNS stops working. I still ping 8.8.8.8, However DNS doesnt resolve. Any ideas how to fix this so i can use both connections and still resolve dns names?
p.s. I've changed the bluetooth network adapter to have a lower metric so its the default gateway (Before i changed this, i couldnt ping 8.8.8.8)
Thanks
