Wayland taken over from predecessor installation

Multi tool use
For Ubuntu machines here neither administrator nor user do adaptations in core of graphical environment stack and bootloader. I mean type of used graphic env. stack and bootloader are not changed by these persons.
As Bionic Beaver drops usage of Wayland I wonder for what reason the to-18.04 upgrade process leaves Wayland to be installed?
Same question regarding Unity.
It was possible to uninstall Unity without negative end-effects.
How risky is to uninstall Wayland?
Fact that those two mentioned above keep to be installed after completion of upgrade to 18.04 results from our own observations made on transition from 16.04 to 18.04.
