I can't boot up my Asus laptop, or now boot from an install CD

0

I'm not very well-versed in anything to do with coding or programming, but have Ubuntu 10.04 on two laptops, and recently one just stopped working. It "tries" to start, I see the ubuntu loading screen, and subsequently when pressing Esc, I see a black screen, and then a bunch of incredibly fast text; or if I just try reinstalling, then it goes through a few different "steps", and then also ends at fast text falling up. Since I can't find a way to access any commands, I took pictures of everything on my phone; sorry for the low quality. The computer was fairly recently backed up so there's nothing that needs saving, as long as I can get it working again!

Here's what's going on as far as I can tell.
