Is it possible to replace proprietary drivers with non-proprietary ones?
I ran the vrms and found this result:
Non-free packages installed on [my computer]
amd64-microcode Processor microcode firmware for AMD CPUs
fonts-ubuntu sans-serif font set from Ubuntu
i965-va-driver VAAPI driver for Intel G45 & HD Graphics family
intel-microcode Processor microcode firmware for Intel CPUs
Contrib packages installed on [my computer]
iucode-tool Intel processor microcode tool
Contrib packages with status other than installed on [my computer]
torbrowser-launcher ( dei) helps download and run the Tor Browser Bundle
4 non-free packages, 0.2% of 1753 installed packages. 2 contrib packages, 0.1% of 1753 installed packages.
Is it possible to replace these packages? If so, how?
Thanks for your help.

"Is it possible...?" is an open kind of question. For example, you could learn to program, and write alternatives to whatever, and replace it with your own code. I don't know if it's practical, but it is possible, or, if you prefer, not impossible. What you probably meant to ask is "How hard is it?". It's obviously hard, otherwise it would have been done a long time ago.
