why i can't see some folders and files?
In a folder, I have some files that I can't see in an open window. But I can see them when I run ls -l
in the terminal.
These files are CMakeCache.txt
, cmake_install.cmake
, Makefile
, temp
.
Could you please guide me what the problem is.

Do the file names have a point . in front of them? Do they have a tilde ~ ?

I had the same experience on ubuntu 16.04. The files were not hidden (did not start with.

). After a few other attempts I hitF5
and they became visible.

I have no idea why the files are hidden but if you type ls -a it should show all files including the hidden ones in that directory.
strange !!! I changed the location of the folder to another directory now i can see the contents!!! what should be the reason?

What happens if you switch the contents back to the original folder? Do they disappear again?

Twould be nice to know what the output of ls -a would've been in the directory that wasn't displaying all your folders. Probably a bug or system glitch...
