Corrupt HDD? (Ubuntu 18.04/16.04)
About a week ago, i bought a Desktop PC and decided to install Ubuntu 18.04 as it's starter OS (There were no files, no drivers, anything inside the HDD. It was clean), the installation (i made another un-answered thread about that here: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Installation Fail) was interrupted halfway through and tried again, this time leading to an un-ending 'Ubuntu' loading screen after it finished installing.
Tried installing Ubuntu 16.04 instead, had the same issue. Then Windows 10, had an eternal loading screen. And finally Windows 7, same thing as before.
I came to the conclusion the issue was the physical hard drive, but i'm not sure what exactly is the problem.

If all OS's don't install, then it is a hardware problem, so it's off-topic.

What happens if you boot from the Ubuntu live USB?

@rusi - the OP has apparently used some media to boot and attempt installs of 18.04, 16.04, Win10 and Win 7. Apparently they are able to boot from a device other than the HDD

i would run ubuntu from usb and check the smart values of your HDDsudo smartclt /dev/sdx. than i would run the various options people wrote in their comments. after that i would again check the smartvalues and compare the results. apart from a broken HDD it can also be a bad connected cable, or one broken sata port on your mainboard.
