Ubuntu 18.04 does not recognise HDMI monitor

I am using a Dell G3 15:

- Linux 5.0.6

- Ubuntu 18.04 (x86-64)

- Cinnamon 3.6.7

- Intel Core i7-8750H

- 8GB Ram

- Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti mobile (nvidia-driver-390)



Although I plugged in my HDMI cable to my monitor, Ubuntu seems to not recognise it. Under settings>devices>displays I can only find eDP-1 which should me my built-in screen.



If I run xrandr I get the following:



Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 8192 x 8192
