Can dh_systemd_start restart service of another package?

0

I am creating a configuration deb package (it contains only configuration files).

I want postinst script of this package to restart an external service (service file is not being installed using my package).

Can I use dh_systemd_start to generate postinst script restarting the service? Or do I have to add it manually? (Because I am not really installing a service).

I was trying something like:

override_dh_systemd_start:
dh_systemd_start --name=name_of_ext_service

...but it doesn't work, since name_of_ext_service.service file isn't part of my package.
