I just started using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, but unfortunately I run this command on terminal sudo apt remove adlm* which removed many packages. So whenever I enter after login it loads nothing. Also when I run any apt-get command it also give error

sudo: apt-get not found

Even dpkg some command not working. What should I do?

  • I just ran this command to check which packages would be removed. It will remove a whopping 566 packages and will free 2.5GB at least in my Ubuntu installation. I have pasted packages to be removed here. It can be observed it is even removing python which a very essential package. I believe clean install is the only option left if you don't want to mess up things anymore. So backup files and have a clean install.
