Ubuntu 18.04 How do I connect a Yoke/Joystick

0

I own a Suncom G-Force yoke/Joystick intended for use with flight-sim s/w.

This connects with a 15 way D-connector to a Sound Blaster live sound card. The original drivers were for Win95 only.

The SBLive is supported with emu10k1 modules see lsmod | grep emu10k

snd_emu10k1_synth 20480 0

snd_emu10k1 155648 5 snd_emu10k1_synth

emu10k1_gp 16384 0

gameport 16384 2 emu10k1_gp

I believe the analog module is also needed this can be installed, temporarily with modprobe. But no /dev/jsx nodes are present so the joystick can't be used.

I've tried creating event0 in /dev/input and linking it to /dev/js0.

Can I connect this device. I'm a very occasional user so don't want to spend on a new usb device, which may not work.
