Is there a way to enable XIP, or restrict swapping to code (not data)?
My old laptop does not support bigger RAM, but I can install an ExpressCard SSD.
I want to make a „semi-read-only swap“ which does not get rewritten too often (for both speed and wear reasons).
Can I somehow enable the eXecute-In-Place feature to make the kernel run directly from that SSD?
Or can I restrict the swap partition for code only, not for data? It'll probably make the system write it once (on startup) and then read it for the rest of the system uptime.
And most important: will I save a noticeable amount of RAM by keeping code on such swap, or it can give me at most few megs?
