Need step by step instructions for recovering wd mybook live hard drive
Can anyone give me step by step commands/instructions to use for recovering a wd mybook live (linux based) raid drive. I spoke to Ontrak support and the tech there explained the drive OS was Linux based, and suggested i setup a Linux system and get data of drive that way. So, i built my 1st Linux(Ubuntu) system, but not familiar with OS or command. Need to mount a specific partition to recover my data.

Can you explain what is the problem that caused you to need to "recover" the drive, and how did you connect the drive to your Linux machine?

There have been so many, many step-by-step data-recovery guides written already. None of them are helpful?

There are guides on the internet to recover data from failed NAS devices (such as your WD device) but if you have enabled encryption on the device you may be stuck. All of the short guides I looked at started with "disassemble the device and take out the disks..."
