Installing Ubuntu Server on mirrored LVM with uefi boot… installer vs command line
I want to install Ubuntu Server on a pair of drives mirrored under LVM. Unfortunately, advanced installation instructions do not give specific information about a mirrored setup. I was thinking to use other instructions such as these, but they are for command line, and I am having a bit of trouble using the command line from the installer.
I can use alt-F2 to get to the command line, but fdisk and other familiar utilities are not present to help me identify disks. I further cannot go back and forth between the command line like I would with an X session by hitting control-alt-f7 (it just goes to a black screen with a flashing cursor, where I can get back to the command line with alt-f2). So how do I get back to the installer after working in the shell?
Also, I would be glad if someone would point me to some resources about using the command line within the Ubuntu Server installer (ie how to get apt and install things like to the installer USB). Or just point me to some specific instructions about setting up mirrored LVM on Ubuntu during installation?
Edit: It was ctr-alt-f1 to return to the installer. The answer is in the third link, but I missed the part about trying different function keys between 1-6. Now that I can freely go between the command line and the installer I might be able to piece together the different tutorials, I will report back if I get it working.
I'd still be glad of some suggestions about clear tutorials of how to install Ubuntu server on mirrored LVM, set up snapshotting of the root file system, and preferably do all that with UEFI boot.

The difference between the Ubuntu Descktop and the Ubuntu Server is the GUI. The server does not have one. If you want to use the server version, you will have to learn to use the command line.

I think you misunderstood. I want to use the command line. The Server installer is text based, but not command line.
