Wireless Connection Randomly Fails on Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 18.10

0

Recently, two of my devices with Ubuntu 18.04 & Ubuntu 18.10 started randomly disconnecting wireless connection. When I go to check the available Wi-Fi networks, there are none on the computer to display (even though I am still connected on my non-Ubuntu devices).

One computer is a first-generation HP Pavilion All-in-One PC with Ubuntu 18.10 installed.

The second computer is a Dell XPS Studio tower desktop with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installed. I have an external Wi-Fi adapter that I connect to the PC with a USB cable. For some reason, if the problem occurs on this computer, I immediately get my wireless connection back after unplugging and plugging the external Wi-Fi adapter back into the computer. (But I don't know how to fix the problem on the HP computer because the Wi-Fi is built-in.)

What could be causing this problem? Thank you in advance.
