Troubleshooting network connections on Ubuntu 16.04
I am new to Ubuntu and struggling to get a wired network connection on my Dell laptop. I can connect to wireless networks but not wired / ethernet. What steps should I follow to check whether this is an Ubuntu issue rather than a hardware problem?
Please note that in the Network pane of System Settings only "Wireless" and "Network proxy" are listed - there is no mention of "Wired".
