I am travelling to Rome along with five other members (all in a family) from Bengaluru via Jeddah. My layover in Jeddah is 13.5 hours before i catch a connecting Flight to Rome. I won't be moving out of airport in Jeddah. Do I still need a Transit visa in Saudi Arabia.

Yes, you need visa otherwise they will not let you board. Call the saudi consulate for the visa or rebook the flight as soon as possible.

Please note that my flight departure time from Bengaluru to Jeddha was changed by airlines from 21:25 to 16:30 due to which i am now facing this problem of more than 12 hours layover. Do i still need a transit visa even though the mistake is from the airlines side. I have already written to the airlines and hope to expect a positive reply.

@user94508 If the airline has changed your schedule in a way that makes the trip impossible for you, you should have the right to a full refund or rebooking. A country isn't going to waive its visa rules because of a schedule change that you were notified of in advance.

I have contacted the airlines again and they say that they shall Board us early in Jeddah. Will this suffice.

TWOV (Transit without visa) via Saudi Arabia:
Passengers transiting through Dammam (DMM), Jeddah (JED) or
Riyadh (RUH) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to
a third country within 12 hours. They must stay in the
international transit area of the airport and have documents
required for the next destination.

I do not think they will let you board the plane to Saudi Arabia. However, I would suggest calling the airlines office and confirming this.
