Connect wired ethernet device to wifi hotspot on same ubuntu machine
So, here's the backstory:
The way my apartment network is set up where you get a random subnet whenever you connect a device. I wanted to create a smart home, so I connected an ubuntu laptop via ethernet and created a wifi hotspot. Now, all of my Google Home Mini's, smart switches, etc. are all on the same hotspot and work perfectly.
I just now bought a Philips Hue Starter Kit, and it requires the hub to be connected via ethernet. But, I can't connect that to the apartment ethernet or it won't be on the same subnet, obviously.
My thought is to connect the Hue Hub via ethernet to the laptop which is running the hotspot. If I can get the Hub to appear on the hotspot, that would work.
In picture form....
--------
[Wall Outlet] -ethernet-> |ubuntu| -wifihotspot-> smartphone
[Hue Hub] -ethernet-----> |laptop|
--------
In technical form...
eth0 is the wired connection to the network
eth1 is the hue hub device
wlan0 is the hotspot which gets internet from eth0
I want to put the eth1 onto wlan0 so that every device on wlan0 can see the eth1 device.
I know some about networking, though I'm not sure if this is a masquerade, a bridge, NAT, etc.
Any help would be amazing!!

I did try setting up eth1 to also have ipv4 "shared to other computers" (same as the hotspot), but it gives me a different subnet. For example, the hotspot is 10.42.0.1 and my hue hub is now 10.42.1.1

I did try setting up eth1 to also have ipv4 "shared to other computers" (same as the hotspot), but it gives me a different subnet. For example, the hotspot is 10.42.0.1 and my hue hub is now 10.42.1.1
