xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma (NVidia GTX 750 Ti, monitor connected with VGA/HDMI adapter). How to...
I just installed the newest version of Ubuntu (18.04) and I got a problem with the screen resolution. I tried to solve this problem with xrandr
in the Terminal and it went like this:
~$ xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 640 x 480, maximum 640 x 480
and then I typed this command lspci -k | grep -iEA5 'vga|display|3d'
with the following result:
~$ lspci -k | grep -iEA5 'vga|display|3d'
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107 [GeForce GTX 750 Ti] (rev a2)
Subsystem: NVIDIA Corporation GM107 [GeForce GTX 750 Ti]
Kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau
01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation Device 0fbc (rev a1)
Subsystem: NVIDIA Corporation Device 105f
Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
How do I solve this problem for adjusting the screen resolution based on these references? My desired resolution is 1366x768.
drivers nvidia display display-resolution xrandr
