Apache and Ubuntu 18.04 [on hold]
I have been trying, for about 18 months, to set up an Apache server on Ubuntu. Just a nice little local server just for me to put stuff into SQL. Well, farewell cruel world. I cannot do this anymore. What seems to be required is a fortuitous assortment of modules and libraries and gremlins to whom one apparently must make some kind of sacrifice. Is there anyone who can tell me if Apache and Ubuntu will ever sit down together and make a single stable installation package for elderly innocents like myself? I have decided to reinstall 18.04, which is easier said than done - I have a lot of files I will have to put on a cloud to keep them safe. Maybe by then - but no. I will see if I can set up MySQL in Perl in Bash. So. Good luck. And maybe you should have some kind of timer set that vaporizes suggestions that seemed good at the time but have lost contact with whatever it is that is going on. Bless you all. Goodbye.
