So I am having a hard time logging into my computer. After entering my password I have been getting just a black screen. Once it brought me back to the log in page. I know absolutely nothing about how to fix this so here's all the info that might be helpful. My version is Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
I am now on a black screen after having typed Ctrl + Alt + F2. I entered in my login name and my password and I am sitting in front of a black screen with a welcome message and then it says:
coyote@coyote-ThinkPad-T530:~$
Coyote is my user name
I don't know what to type! I just wanna watch a movie! Can someone help? Thanks!

you will restart your (probably GNOME since you chose Ubuntu 18.04.1) desktop environment, the point-and-click interface. It shows you coyote@coyote-ThinkPad-T530:~$ * because you are logged in as *coyote, on theThinkPad-T530
