Window manager slow to resume from sleep
If I resume from sleep at a console (e.g. ctrl+alt+f1) the resume is almost instant. But when I resume from sleep from there is a noticeably long delay of five (5) seconds until the lock screen appears, most of which is sitting at a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper-left corner. I am running LUbuntu 18.04 with LXDE for the low power and other resource requirements, but I am wondering...
Is there some way I can speed up LXDE so I don't have to wait such a long time? I used to other systems such as Android and OS X where wakeup is virtually instantaneous.
Is there another window manager that would be more instantaneous response when resuming from suspend? My initial thought was that LXDE should be fastest as it is supposed to be lightweight, but maybe this is not true?
Or maybe there are other factors to consider. Maybe Linux just doesn't have a window manager that is fast from resume. Or maybe if I get rid of needing a login password it would be faster. I really don't want to do this, so I haven't tried it.
