merge and concat video using ffmpeg

0

I have 2 videos both same resolution left.mp4 and right.mp4(1280*720).

Following are the transformations that I need to do:

  1. Stack these 2 both videos side-by-side, this results in a wide video with top and bottom padding.

    ffmpeg -i left.mp4 -i right.mp4 -filter_complex "[0:v][1:v]hstack=inputs=2,scale=1280:720" merged.mp4

  2. Next concat left.mp4 and merged.mp4:

    ffmpeg -i left.mp4 -i merged.mp4 -filter_complex "[v0][0:a][v1][1:a]concat=n=2:v=1:a=1[v][a]" -map [v] -map [a] concat.mp4

Resulting concat.mp4 has both videos, but merged.mp4 content is stretched instead of top and bottom padding. I want left.mp4 and merged.mp4 to have their own resolution with padding.

Not sure what I miss here.

  • Show the complete output of ffmpeg -n -i left.mp4 -i right.mp4. It will show info needed to provide an accurate answer.
