skipping incompatible when searching for -lmysqlclient

0

I'm trying to compile x86 program code under x64, using libmysqlclient.so.
When compiling, getting message:

/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible //usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libmysqlclient.so when searching for -lmysqlclient
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmysqlclient

As I know, in debian, libmysqlclient.so is libmariadbclient.so
What should I do? Install some developing package for my x64 system?

  • If you are building a 32-bit program you will need the corresponding 32-bit (i386) library packages. Are you actually using Debian? or Ubuntu?
