Features of Textual Language

I've been trying to study the features of text for a while. For example, If I said
"John had gone to the market"
and then i said,
"John bought milk from the market".
Then these sentences are meant to entail each other.
So while talking about text, we might say that entailment is a feature. So is Coherence, Fluency, Informativeness. Are there any other features of a language that I should know of?
I may not have properly written the title of the question, If you have suggestions please feel free to tell me so.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it seems to be asking about languages in general: NOT English in particular.
