齿音（或舌尖前音、舌齒音）是舌尖音的一种。发音时，舌尖接触上门牙。若发音时舌尖在上门牙和下门牙之间则又称为齿间音（Interdental）。
齿擦音（国际音标为θ和ð）出現在英語、冰島語等語言中，如英语中常见为齿间擦音[θ̪͆ ]和[ð̪͆]。现代标准汉语的s是齿擦音[s̪]而不是齿龈擦音，[1]因而又称作舌尖前音，[2]
与舌尖中音、舌尖後音相对而言。
齿塞音、鼻音、边音的附加符号即在辅音下加一个形如“横卧的左方括号”（英语称bridge）的符号：

在古汉语中，齿塞音被称为“舌头音”，而齿擦音和齿塞擦音为“齿头音”。
