Distinguishing between unreliable frame narrator and narrator of framed story
Writing a work which is bookended by a frame story. The frame story has an unreliable narrator telling the framed story.
How do I help the reader - ie prevent confusion - when the frame narrator interjects? In the framed story the characters have direct speech (quotation marks), indirect speech (Italics). What if the frame narrator has thoughts or indirect speech?
How can I lessen the confusion? Make readbility much better?

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it isn't about the English language. Picking English as the language of the text isn't relevant to confusion or readability. Consider asking at Writing instead.
