Accidently uninstalled python while trying to update

0

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04. While updating python I uninstalled inbuilt python, I lost all my unity settings like terminal. When I boot up machine, it is displaying only folders and not any default system icons like Chrome, Firefox etc .

  • I'm not sure if apt is still working or not. Removing python might have broken apt too. Go to TTY mode using Ctrl+Alt+F1 (or F7). Login and run sudo apt install python-minimal.
