No video or network after resuming on Intel NUC7i3BNK or NUC5CPYH

I have three Intel NUCs and two of them will not resume from sleep. After I suspend the NUC, I can click the keyboard and the NUC wakes up but there is no video and I cannot ping and/or ssh into the box anymore.

The two models having problems are NUC7i3BNK and an older NUC5CPYH.
The model that does work is a NUC6CAYH.

I have tried numerous Ubuntu builds (16.04, 18.04 and 18.10) and I've tried numerous different kernels and it never helps.

Just wondering if anyone has a NUC5 or NUC7 that suspends and resumes properly or any tips on how I can make this work (if it's possible).

  • Tried Windows on the same NUC and same problem so this isn't a Linux problem. Seems to be related to the latest Intel BIOS that I applied. Intel is sending me a replace unit(s).
