Can Ubunto 18 be reinstalled from withing initramfs?
Something went wrong! 2 days ago I booted my tablet PC and it went straight to initramfs.
After 2 frustrating days, I've given up on trying to fix whatever error caused this (initramfs does not display an error message - that would be too easy). So I'm wondering if there is a way to either reformat the HHD deleting everything or if Ubuntu 18 can simply be installed from within initramfs?

One easy way: Boot your original install USB, follow the prompts.

About 90% of the drop-to-initramfs-busybox-prompt questions we see hare are one of the following three issues: 1) System filesystem is broken (run fsck), 2) System partition is mislabeled in GRUB (use blkid and compare with GRUB), or 3) Disk is dying (boot from USB and run a SMART test),

@user535733 The unit will only boot to the Ubuntu boot menu or the corrupted Windows boot menu. Absolutely nothing that I try will get it to boot to anything else. Window partition does not even exist. Extremely frustrating. All bootable devices must use the one and only USB port. I've spent many, many hours configuring the AMI setup but it cannot be flashed to a newer version and the existing version is fixed at BOM: Windows 8 <- can't be changed. Thanks.
