Wifi capabilities disappeared after the most recent kernel update on Ubuntu 16.04 with BCM43142 802.11b/g/n...

I lost WiFi capabilities after a recent Ubuntu 16.04 kernel update.

My network card is BCM43142 802.11b/g/n and I was using

Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA sireless driver source from
bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary)

I tried selecting "Do not use this device" in the Software Updater under "Additional Drivers" and restarted but that did not work.

I also tried downloading and installing the 18.04 binaries with..

sudo dpkg -i bcmwl-kernel-source_6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu4_amd64.deb

...and after a restart it didn't work.

If I run sudo lshw -C network I get...

  *-network UNCLAIMED
description: Network controller
product: BCM43142 802.11b/g/n
vendor: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries
physical id: 0
bus info: pci@0000:02:00.0
version: 01
width: 64 bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm msi pciexpress cap_list
configuration: latency=0
resources: memory:f0c00000-f0c07fff

Solved: This is a duplicate of

Broadcom Wireless Drivers unclaimed after installing update 16.04

Basically, there is a bug. To fix I had to go into the BIOS and disable Secure Boot. I restarted and it worked.
