I’m trying to write a polite questioning email

I’m a student in Korea, and I have a question about a book called “Persuasive Technology”. There’s something that I don’t understand clearly, and I’d like to write a questioning email to the Persuasive technology lab.
The problem is, this is the first time writing an email asking something to someone I do not know personally. I’m concerned that if written without guidance, my mail might be perceived a bit unpolite.
I’d love to get a little help, guiding me about how to start the mail, and end it.
